141 Shooting range provides a variety of courses for people to learn the essentials of Marksmanship and Firearms Training, as it's imperative to have a solid understanding of both when it comes to the handling of a new (or any) firearm. From basic firearm marksmanship, to safety, to handgun workshops and cleaning we have you covered.

Basic Firearm Marksmanship Course

The Basic Marksmanship Course was developed by Arma Training to ensure anyone who has successfully obtained a concealed carry permit and educated and trained as a "Responsible Firearm Owner", RFO, to safely handle and operate the firearm they are carrying. This course is designed to teach the basics of marksmanship not covered when receiving a concealed carry permit. We understand that drawing, moving and firearm handling is a critical part of marksmanship. We will address the 7 fundamentals of marksmanship including but not limited to, stance, grip, sight alignment, sight picture, trigger control, breathing, follow up, word choice selection and phrasing when justifying and explaining the application of deadly force. This course was developed by field proven tactics and is designed to save your life!

Equipment Needed:

  • Firearm you carry
  • Recommend attire ranging from casual clothes to tactical pants and comfortable shirts to simulate everyday wear
  • Closed toe and laced footwear (running shoes, hiking, or tactical boots) for range tactics and instruction
  • Rain gear, jackets, and gloves suitable for climate conditions
  • Personal gear consisting of duty belt with holsters
  • At least 3 magazines per weapon
  • Personal protective equipment such as eye safety goggles, baseball hat, towel, soft and hard ear protection
  • At least 50 rounds of factory ammunition (no reloads allowed)

Handgun Protection and Retention, Firearm Skills and Tactics Workshops

Learn the skills and tactics to win a gun fight. Come learn the tactics that military and police instructor Dave Young teaches. This class is designed to give civilians the training needed to keep themselves and their families safe beyond a typical concealed carry course, these workshops will have the drills you need as a Responsible Firearm Owner. Morning and Afternoon workshops available!

HANDGUN PROTECTION AND RETENTION WORKSHOP

(No live fire)

This presentation is conducted with minimum lecture, guided discovery, and maximum participation in all activities, drills and exercises and is designed to address all stages of handgun protection to ensure you maintain positive weapon control of your firearm when carrying it openly, concealed or when deploying. Topics will include situational awareness, the 10-5-2-foot rule, understanding the 5 Basic Safety Indicators, how to manage distance and control positioning, strategies for shielding your firearm, retention of your firearm in and out of the holster and escalation options when everything else fails. All skills in this program are lifesaving skills and translate from the classroom to the range to winning real world encounters.

FIREARM SKILLS AND TACTICS WORKSHOP

(Live Fire)

This presentation is conducted with minimum lecture, guided discovery, and maximum participation in all activities, drills and exercises. It's designed to address all skills necessary to win a gunfight by focusing on selecting the right holster and firearm, a discussion about ballistics, the importance of concealing your firearm, a movement and drawing exercises, hand/eye coordination drills, firearm manipulation, trigger control exercises, unorthodox shooting positions, movement and engagement tactics for defending your home, car or workplace while addressing the obligation of being a responsible firearm owner. All skills in this program are lifesaving skills and translate from the classroom to the range to winning real world encounters.
