Active Shooter Program Coming To Salvation Army

October 11, 2019, La Crosse, Wis. – Today Vistelar is conducting a 4-hour training program on “How to survive an active assailant entering your building.” This specific training will be for the Salvation Army location in La Crosse, WI.

The program, titled, “Active Shooter Preparedness and Response,” is designed to deliver lifesaving information to all employees who work in an office setting where the potential for an active shooter situation could arise.

The course will be taught by Vistelar’s co-founder, Dave Young, who has developed the unique program over the course of 30 years of experience as a Marine, security agent, and law enforcement and corrections officer.

The distinctive program is based on the mantra, “Escape, Barricade, Defend,” and teaches students how to respond to an active assailant in their building based on a time clock that starts ticking before the person even sets foot on the premises.

Abbey Kronebusch, the Director of Operations for the Salvation Army of La Crosse County, who is bringing in the training said, “I attended a Vistelar Active Shooter training in 2017. Prior to that training I had taken at least three other active shooter trainings. Vistelar blew the others out of the water! It took components of all of the courses I had taken prior and combined them. It was a practical hands on training that I felt confident leaving. Active Shooter training is a scary topic. In this day and age it is a necessity for any company to have their employees trained. Dave Young with Vistelar is the best. Bringing him to La Crosse to train my staff is possibly the best business decision we’ve made this year.”

Vistelar (Vistelar.com), based in Milwaukee, WI , is a training and consulting institute focused on addressing the entire spectrum of human conflict — from non-escalation to stopping the threat.
